Dreams and Reveries

A small chubby bird
Pulls at the Sunday section
To make newsy nest.

Train hoots in the night
Passing on its way somewhere,
Leaving a rumble.

New Haven Park

Floating from hard rocks
Ghost dandelion puffs sprout
Gray ancient faces.

Next to its neighbor
No longer upright and tall:
The hollowed out stump.









Shadow in the tree
Opens a faint dark window
On another world.

Sunshine distillate
Pours into the yellow blooms
Childhood flower.

Two deer are grazing:
Fawns in the orange sunset;
I stop and watch them.
